Firefly's legacy

Once upon a time
a legend was born
your thinking is wrong
this was no unicorn

A pegasus born
for all to feel
the vibration of her hooves
running through the clouds
feeling the wind tickle

One of great beauty found from within
One with the spirit who will always win
One with the tongue that will cut through stone
One with the fire and a fearless heart
One who will never fly home

Firefly woke up on cloud like bed
tossed herself down to the world she left
pegasi gathered around Medley to hear a song
Firefly grabbed her tail and pulled her along
when they were safely out of reach
they flew through to the river to have a drink

Sealight went for swim that day
graceful and mystical in everyway
almost swam into the undertow
she came up for air
accidently splashed Firefly
and soaked her hair

The unicorns burst at laughing
the sea ponies swam up
offered to dry her hair with a seaweed rug
Firefly shook her head
she turned around
fire of insecruity burned within
as she shook the water out

The water was sprayed over the unicorns
each mane was curly now
with their tails stuck to their back hooves

The unicorns panicked
shallowness in vein
most winked out
all were ashamed
all ran away

The vanity of unicorn was an ancient fact
never changing, always existing
beauty, power, purity
they couldn't call themselves unicorns
without that ancient legacy of creation
boy, Firefly was glad she hadn't grown up to be like that

She flew away
leaving Medley
as black clouds were drawn in
she flew into them enjoying the cool wind
lightining forks striked
thunder grumbled
Firefly shone with happiness
finding a piece of home
always made her feel better

She challenged the lightining
doing sky somersaults, trible loops and double
getting stroke by lightining twelve times
made her stronger and more confident
never ever hurt her

As wild as the wind
As angry as the lightining
a legend made the ancients
underneath her destiny
she's like any other pony
Her name is Firefly!
